Herbert Muller’s team defeated Atletico Guardes (Spain) in the semifinals with 31-21, and in the decisive match beat H65 Hoors (Sweden) with 33-24. Thuringer will therefore play for the 7th consecutive season in the Champions League groups.

Even more clearly Vipers Kristiansand qualified after 43-19 with Gomel (Belarus) and 42-14 with Podravka Koprivnica (Croatia), former winner of the Champions League. Noteworthy that Norway’s team has a very interesting team this season, with Lunde sisters, but also with other internationals such as Sulland, Arntzen and Tomac.

So, the Champions League group is complete and looks like this:

Group A: CSM Bucharest, Nykobing (Denmark), Krim Mercator (Slovenia), Vistal Gdynia (Poland)

Group B: Gyor (Hungary), Rostov (Russia), FC Midtjylland (Denmark), Brest (France)

Group C: Vardar (Macedonia), Larvik (Norway), Ferencvaros (Hungary), Thuringer (Germany)

Group D: Buducnost (Montenegro), Metz (France), Bietigheim (Germany), Kristiansand (Norway).

As you can see, Denmark, Hungary, France, Norway and Germany have two teams in the Champions League groups. From Top 7, only Romania and Russia have one representative. Matches in groups will start on 6-7 October. CSM Bucharest will play the first match in the Polivalent Hall on October 7 with Krim Mercator.
