De Minaur A. vs Nishioka Y. is the winning match for today!
This will be the first meeting between Nishioka and De Minaur. Though both these players are extremely talented and reliable, only one of them is playing his best tennis right now as the other one is struggling with fitness.

Alex de Minaur News

Playing his first match since the Davis Cup tie against Germany (first week of February), Alex de Minaur fought back from a set down to beat Jan Lennard Struff but lost to the eventual Champion Juan Martin Del Potro in the following match at the Indian Wells last fortnight.
The teenager then progressed to the quarterfinal at Irving Challenger last week (defeated Marterer and Youzhny) and secured two more solid straight-set wins against Axel Geller and Ruben Bemelmans in the qualifying stages this week.
The one month break he took after the Davis Cup seems to have helped Alex de Minaur improve his performance level as the teenager played too many matches at the beginning of the season, including the Australian Open Wildcard Playoff.
His match against Struff at the Indian Wells two weeks back was his first ever main draw appearance in an ATP Masters event, and he will now be making his Miami Open MD debut when he takes on Yoshihito Nishioka this Thursday.

Yoshihito Nishioka News

It was here at Miami in 2017 where Yoshihito Nishioka injured his left knee during his second round match against Jack Sock, and his rapid progression has been halted ever since. He defeated an Australian opponent in the first round here in 2017 (Jordan Thompson).
The Japanese was consistently delivering results by winning over 50 matches for three consecutive seasons between 2014-2016 but could only play 26 matches (14/12) in 2017. Returning to the action earlier this season, Nishioka looked far from his best, and he was even forced to retire once at Launceston Challenger (left knee).
Nishioka is currently on a four-match losing run, and his recent three-set defeats against Stephane Robert (Burnie Challenger), Benoit Paire (Dubai) and Marcos Baghdatis (Indian Wells) are largely down to his lack of fitness more than anything.

Tennis Prediction: Alex de Minaur to win the match
Odds: 1.50
