Slovenia are again a real threat to the medals with the Doncic-Dragic-Randolph triple.
The base pair has been at a stratospheric level, Doncic is a real rough diamond at the age of 18 and Dragic is probably the best “FIBA base” today.
Randolph’s naturalized Slovenian has been a huge upgrade both in the defensive part and in the attack and experienced players like Blazic and Vidmar complement this segment very well.
On the other side we have Latvia in emergency.
The selection of Kristaps Porzingis is a real fun to see, players like Strelnieks, Bertans, Timma and etc create a real power in the future at the highest level mainly due to its versatility.
They have been one of the best teams throughout the competition but have to show they can fight for the medals yet.
Prediction Slovenia vs Latvia:
It’s truly a 50/50 game. I go with the Slovenes because having a real offensive weapon with huge experience at this level as Dragic will turn out to be an advantage because in the end Porzinigs is a young man and this is his first major competition.
Slovenian supplements seem more regular at the moment and that will make a difference.
