Yafan Wang vs Pauline Parmentier Tennis Prediction

Pauline Parmentier lifted her first WTA title since 2008 by prevailing over Polona Hercog at Istanbul last month. The Frenchwoman had to go through #2 Caroline Wozniacki, who retired due to abdomen issues, handing Parmentier her first top 10 win (1-15).
The title run was even more remarkable considering Parmentier had a 2-15 season (all levels), prior to arriving at Istanbul. Two weeks back, she played her first tournament after Istanbul, a $100k at Cagnes-Sur-Mer, losing to #149 Teichmann in the first round.
Parmentier debuted at her home tournament of Internationaux De Strasbourg way back in 2004, with the main draw debut in 2009. Since then, apart from registering a semifinal (2012) and a quarterfinal (2016), she has exited the first round in all remaining stays.
Yafan Wang, who was ranked #172 at the start of the season, has debuted into the top 100 by posting a surprising fourth-round run at the Indian Wells, defeating Marketa Vondrousova and Carla Suarez Navarro (l. to Kerber in two hours and 51 minutes).
After reaching the final of WTA $125k Zhengzhou (her biggest singles final), Wang has risen to a career-high rank of #81. This week, the 24-year-old is seeking her first main draw win at a WTA clay event, having fallen in Strasbourg qualifyings in 2017.
Wang defeated Parmentier when they first met on the indoor hard-court of Taipei this February in routine straight sets, 6-3 6-3. The Chinese went on to defeat Bouchard and register the third WTA semifinal of her career (l. eventual champion Babos).
