Frances Tiafoe can play very good tennis, he showed it only rarely in the last few weeks. His last really good tournament was played by the Americans at the end of March in Miami, where he reached the quarter-finals and was defeated by Denis Schapovalov in three tight sets.
Since then, however, he did not succeed much and there were several first-round failures, including in Wimbledon and at the French Open, his last two Grand Slam tournaments. It is therefore questionable whether he can pick up on his top form now just at the US Open.
The betting base thinks that Tiafoe is very dependent on the form of Zverev and that he can only beat himself. However, if the American realizes that Zverev’s head is going crazy again, then he would have to strike and take advantage of his chances.
