Tennis Prediction
Kuhn N. vs King D. is our tennis prediction for today wich will be played at ATP – SINGLES: Miami (USA), hard.
This will be the first meeting between Kuhn and King. The Spaniard is easily the solid, reliable and consistent performer of these two, he’s got more potential as well, but having played six matches already at this venue (2017 and 2018) could be an advantage for King. Both these players will see this as a good opportunity to progress into the second round of an ATP Masters 1000 event.
Nicola Kuhn News
The undoubtedly talented Nicola Kuhn made huge strides in 2017 by winning his maiden Challenger (Braunschweig) and ITF title (Hungary). The 18-year-old Kuhn won 33 matches in 2017 (33/16) which includes a 15 match unbeaten streak between July-August.
The Spaniard enjoyed his best week of the 2018 season when he finished as the runner-up to Vasek Pospisil at the Budapest Challenger, 6-7 6-3 3-6. Nicola Kuhn has a German father and a Russian mother, and he even represented Germany before switching allegiances to Spain in 2016.
The 2017 Junior French Open runner-up made his ATP Main draw debut at Shenzhen in September 2017 (as a wildcard) where he lost his first-round match to Donald Young in two close sets, 5-7 6-7, and that is his only match on tour till date.
The teenager, who is currently on a three-match losing run, has been awarded a wildcard entry into the Miami Open main draw which will allow him to make his Masters debut this week.
Darian King News
After failing in the qualifying stages of the Indian Wells (vs. Ricardas Berankis), Darian King avoided a similar fate by securing two comeback wins against the top-seed Roberto Carballes Baena and Mackenzie McDonald in the qualifying stages this week. Notably, King lost the first set 2-6 in both those matches.
The Barbadian made a great start to the month by finishing as the runner-up at the Indian Wells Challenger (lost to Martin Klizan) but couldn’t back it up with a positive result at the Indian Wells Masters event (QR1). He will be hoping to make amends by registering some wins at the Miami Open (MD) this week.
Making his Miami Open debut in 2017, Darian King qualified for the main draw where he defeated Lukas Lacko before losing in straight sets to David Goffin in the second round.
Darian King has got the ability to win matches at this level, but his desire to win them has always been questionable. However, the 25-year-old Barbadian has made a decent start to the new season by winning ten of his opening 19 matches, including a quarterfinal appearance at the Newport Beach Challenger in January.
Tennis Prediction: Darian King to win the match
Odds: 1.60
