Time is running out! Instead of having at least a two-week break between the Champions League games, things are going very quickly this season. After the start of the group phase last week, the games of the second matchday are on the program on Tuesday and Wednesday. At Anfield Road, there is an unequal duel between Liverpool and Midtjylland.

A look at the current betting odds of the best bookmakers for the Tuesday games shows that the Klopp team is assigned the clearest favourite role. The current odds are only slightly above 1.10. The Danish Champions League debutant had to pay a lot of money against Atalanta Bergamo last week and is considered a blatant outsider on Tuesday evening.

The English champions are still a long way from being in top form, but hardly anyone doubts their victory. For lucrative betting odds, the alternative betting markets must be looked at accordingly. Between Liverpool and Midtjylland, odds of less than 2.00 are still offered for predicting a win with at least three goals difference.

Liverpool – Statistics & current form

After 94 Premier League games with Virgil van Dijk, Liverpool had to do without the defensive boss on Saturday, but Alisson Becker returned between the posts. He could not prevent the early deficit from a penalty, but thanks to goals from Roberto Firmino and new signing Diogo Jota, Liverpool celebrated their next success after two PL games without a win.

Anfield Road is still a fortress

The home win against the Blades, who remain penultimate, was basically to be expected. After all, Jürgen Klopp has an impressive home record with his Reds. The success was already the 62nd league home game of the reigning champions without defeat. 51 games were won, the guests only managed to win points eleven times.

The balance sheet on the international stage is just as impressive. Although the most recent Champions League home game was lost to Atletico Madrid in the spring, Liverpool had previously been unbeaten in 26 international home games. Liverpool last suffered two home defeats in a row in Europe in 2009. In view of the immense quality advantages between Liverpool and Midtjylland, the tip on a sensational Liverpool defeat is by no means realistic.

Unusually vulnerable defence

On the way to the first championship in 30 years, not only the outstanding offensive around the trident storm was decisive, but also the defensive. This season, however, nothing of it can be seen – yet. Only in three of the ten competitive games so far was Liverpool able to keep the zero. On Tuesday, however, only odds of around 1.85 are offered for a favourite win without a goal.

The probable lineup of Liverpool:
Alisson – Robertson, Fabinho, Gomez, Alexander-Arnold – Milner, Henderson, Wijnaldum – Mane, Firmino, Salah

Midtjylland – Statistics & current form

FC Midtjylland has won three championship titles so far, all of which have been successful in the last six years. Numbers have been the be-all and end-all at the Danish club since Matthew Benham joined the company. The players are not judged by subjective assessments, but by statistics that reveal much more than pass and goal rates.

Champions League participation is the greatest success so far

With the English team Brentford, a second club is located in the Benham empire and only missed promotion to the Premier League last year. For FC Midtjylland, the current group phase represents the greatest success in club history. Bulgarian champions Ludogorets, Swiss titleholders Young Boys and Czech champions Slavia Prague were eliminated in qualifying.

Brian Priske’s team is the fifth Danish Champions League representative and had to learn a lot last Wednesday. Midtjylland slid into a 4-0 debacle against the strong offensive Atalanta Bergamo. The prospects for the first counter in the premier class are not exactly promising. The four previous Danish participants suffered a defeat in their first Champions League away game. In the David versus Goliath duel between Liverpool and Midtjylland, guests can sometimes even bet 30 times for the tip.

13 points in the last five league games

The Danish champions made a false start in the current season and suffered an opening defeat against SönderjyskE before the Priske-Elf returned the usual results in the last few weeks. 13 points were collected in five games and the defending champion can only be found in second place because of the poorer goal difference.

The team showed great morale last weekend when Midtjylland were already 2-0 behind in the top match against Brondby but still managed to win thanks to a goal by captain and central defender Erik Sviatchenko in the 94th minute.

Probable lineup of Midtjylland:
Andersen – Paulinho, Scholz, Sviatchenko, Cools – Onyeka, Evander – Anderson, Kraev, Dreyer – Kaba

Liverpool vs Midtjylland – Direct comparison / H2H balance

The two reigning champions from England and Denmark will face each other for the first time in club history on Tuesday evening. For Liverpool, it will be the fifth duel with a Danish team (two wins and one draw and one defeat – most recently in 1995), while Midtjylland will face a Premier League team for the seventh time. The Danish underdog surprisingly has a positive record. In spring 2016, Midtjylland failed in the Europa League knockout phase after the first-leg win at Manchester United.

Liverpool vs Midtjylland Betting Predictions and Odds by PicksSoccer Experts

The best teams face each other in the UEFA Champions League and yet, especially in the group stage, very unequal duels are common. One such game is undoubtedly the game between Liverpool and Midtjylland, in which a tip on the three-way market is not worthwhile given the low betting odds – and a surprise is hard to imagine.

Key facts – Liverpool vs Midtjylland tips

Only in three of the ten competitive games so far did Liverpool keep the box clean
First duel between the two teams
The Danish champions are one of four debutants this CL season

The wolves – what the nickname Ulvene means – will have to act much more viciously than against Atalanta Bergamo in order to make the rooms tight. If this does not succeed over the entire season, the Klopp team will attack the Danish underdog and literally tear the wolves apart.

Liverpool lacks the ease and self-evidence of the past season in many situations, so should the opportunity arise to be able to recharge their batteries, the Reds will gratefully accept this opportunity. Due to the enormous differences in quality, the favourite will sooner or later have many opportunities. Therefore, between Liverpool and Midtjylland, the tip on a handicap win with at least three goals difference is recommended.
