The 22-year-old Jarry, who failed to win consecutive matches on tour in January, has now won six of his last eight matches since the start of clay swing (Febraury 2018).
Before Sao Paulo, the Chilean entered two clay court tournaments this month and made at least the quarterfinal in both of them (Quito and Rio de Janeiro). He is just one win away from making a hattrick of quarterfinal appearances on tour, which would be incredible considering he has never played a quarterfinal match at this level until 2018 (ATP Quito).
After winning over 50 matches on the clay court events in 2016 (56/23), Nicolas Jarry could register only 26 wins in 2017 (26/12, still good number) and now he looks all set to have another productive season on this surface.

Like Jarry, Guido Pella started his clay swing with a quarterfinal appearance in his first tournament (Buenos Aires).
But he faced a disappointing first-round exit at Rio last week (Gastao Elias), and the Argentinian was so close to facing consecutive first-round exit before he fought back from a set down to beat Corentin Moutet in three sets on Tuesday.
After facing early exits between 2012-2015, Guido Pella finally reached the quarterfinal of ATP Sao Paulo last year, defeating Clezar and Berlocq.
