In times when anything seems possible in world football, the discussion about a Ronaldo transfer in 2021 is picking up speed.
Many clubs are looking to cut wages and are thinking about selling their silverware. Is Juventus Turin among them?

When will Ronaldo be transferred?
In the summer of 2018, the Portuguese striker moved from Real Madrid to Juventus Turin. The old lady paid 117 million euros for the then 33-year-old. CR7 is now 35 years old and has a contract until the end of the 2021/22 season.
Accordingly, the coming summer after the EM 2021 is the last opportunity for Juventus to receive a transfer fee for the top star. But why shouldn’t Italy’s all-time champions just keep their player and rely on a contract extension?
A central reason for this is the salary costs that come with Cristiano Ronaldo. According to media reports, the Portuguese earn a base salary of 31 million euros net. Since the loss of income as a result of the corona pandemic is also hit hard by Juventus, the 2017 Champions League finalist wants to save as much money as possible.

From a sporting point of view, a Ronaldo transfer is only partially acceptable. At Juventus, CR7 can no longer match the superhuman values of his time in Madrid but is still a reliable scorer for his team.
As the statistics show, Portugal’s captain still has almost one scorer per game. Especially in the second half, Cristiano Ronaldo is always in top form and scores his most goals rather late. In addition, he was responsible for the decisive goal of victory 24 times in the Juve jersey.
Will Ronaldo join PSG?
That could make sense as PSG have been grappling with rumours about their top strikers Kylian Mbappé and Neymar for months.
Should they actually change, the owners from Qatar would certainly not let that sit on themselves and add to the transfer market. A contract with a global superstar that is about to expire would be just right.
Given his advanced age as a footballer, a Ronaldo transfer should also cost less than in the past. Transfermarkt currently estimates the striker’s market value at 60 million euros.
Back to the ex – Ronaldo transfer to Manchester or Madrid?
Again and again, in the discussions about a CR7 transfer, it’s ex-clubs Real Madrid and Manchester United appear. Both have had similar problems in the recent past.
Real has been missing a strong player alongside Karim Benzema since Ronaldo’s departure, whom Eden Hazard has not even come close to playing. After winning three Champions League titles, the Madrilenians were knocked out twice in the last sixteen and are not doing too brilliantly in 2020/21 either.
At Manchester United, aspirations and reality have diverged far for a long time.
The club was unable to absorb the departure of legendary coach Sir Alex Ferguson. There has been no championship since 2013. Rather, the team has to fight year after year to catch up with the top 4.
Both could very well use a Ronaldo in top form. The odds are 4.33 for United and 6.00 for Real. That’s because Los Blancos are said to have a greater interest in younger players like the Mbappé mentioned above.
Does FC Bayern have a chance at CR7?
An interesting name appears in the betting odds right after PSG, United and Real. Bayern Munich is listed as Ronaldo’s future club with a odds of 8.50. It would be spectacular if the five-time world footballer pitched his tents in Germany all at once.
Most of the arguments speak clearly against a CR7 change to Munich.
Even if the transfer fee should turn out to be relatively low, those responsible at FCB are not known to break their salary structure emphatically. It cannot be assumed that Ronaldo and his advisors would accept significantly less than the previous 31 million euros net in view of his performance in Turin.
Such a sum does not even come close to reaching long-term leading players like Manuel Neuer or Robert Lewandowski in Munich.
In addition, players on Säbener Straße have usually only received one-year contracts for well over 30 years. An actor like Ronaldo will not accept such a thing.
Is Cristiano Ronaldo moving to the USA?
If no club in Europe secures the services of Cristiano Ronaldo, some franchises from the USA could be pricked up. Inter Miami under the direction of David Beckham or LA Galaxy, known for its glamour transfers, are immediately obvious.
The question is whether Ronaldo still sees himself in the constitution to set further records in top European football. So he could simply let his contract in Juventus expire in 2022 as planned. Interest in a free transfer Cristiano Ronaldo should be significantly higher again.
In MLS he would get great opportunities in terms of (self) marketing. However, the appearance of a relaxed end to your career cannot be ignored.
Which clubs could still handle a Ronaldo transfer?
Financially, Manchester City would undoubtedly be in a position to sign Cristiano Ronaldo. It seems rather unlikely that the Portuguese and ex-United player will be hired by the city rivals. In addition, Pep Guardiola is more interested in Lionel Messi, who could also change next summer.
For football romantics, a return to Sporting Lisbon would be extremely interesting. Ronaldo’s impressive professional career began in Portugal’s capital.
However, it cannot be assumed that the 22-time Portuguese champions can afford the top star. If Ronaldo is not ready to cut his wages significantly, Sporting will have to wait a few more years for his chance.

In our opinion, a possible transfer and the Ronaldo transfer fee also depend on the further course of the global pandemic. Hardly any large club is currently able to afford Cristiano Ronaldo’s salary. The income side is too uncertain.
Paris Saint-Germain may be an exception.
However, that probably only applies if Mbappé or Neymar should leave the club. Alternatives like Bayern Munich or Sporting Lisbon would be very unlikely even without the pandemic.
There are still the former clubs from Manchester and Madrid. United, in particular, should show interest here. Currently, the 20-time English champion is not exactly luring with sporting arguments to convince the Portuguese of a comeback.
