Try our tennis pick for today! A intersting match for online betting: Anastasija Sevastova vs Ashleigh Barty at WTA – SINGLES: Charleston (USA), clay.
This third round clash between the 8th seed (#16) and 9th seed (#18) is very evenly poised. This will be the pair’s first meeting. While Barty has never met any Latvian other than Ostapenko (1-1), Sevastova has 8-3 tour-level record against Aussies.

Anastasija Sevastova Prediction

Anastasija Sevastova got dragged into the third set by the qualifier Dolehide despite leading the match by a set and break. However, she steadied the ship to claim the decider, 6-1. The Latvian got outhit by the teenager in the winners tally, 32 to 38.
This match, clocked at one hour and 58 minutes, is Sevastova’s third-longest match of the season. The other two longer ones have ended in Sevastova’s defeat (against Makarova at Dubai and Azarenka at Miami).
Sevastova, making her third consecutive appearance at Charleston (fifth overall, debuted in 2009), is here to defend the quarterfinal points (best result). Last year, she knocked out Ons Jabeur and Andrea Petkovic before falling to Laura Siegemund.
The world #16 has made just one quarterfinal appearance this season, at the Brisbane International, during the very first week of the season. In that match, she defeated Krunic to set up a semifinal meeting with the eventual runner-up, Sasnovich.

Ashleigh Barty Pick

Ashleigh Barty was a set away from handing Tatjana Maria her second main draw win of the season. But, she recovered well from dropping the first set (6-4) to win the next two, 6-3 and 6-2.
Earlier in the week, the Charleston main draw debutante won her first-ever match at this tournament by defeating American teenager Sofia Kenin, 6-3 6-2, in 68 minutes. Barty has never won three consecutive tour-level main draw matches on clay.
Barty has played at Charleston once before (2013) but fell in the first qualifying round to #145 Nastassja Burnett while being ranked #197. She returns to Charleston ranked 18th in the world and Australia’s #1 player.
Barty’s best week of the season came at her home tournament of Sydney. She knocked out Strycova and Gavrilova only to run into Angelique Kerber in the final.

Tennis Prediction Today: Ashleigh Barty to win
