Caroline Dolehide Tennis Pick
Caroline Dolehide will make her Premier Mandatory main draw debut at the Indian Wells, thanks to a wildcard entry. Last year, she received a wildcard into the qualifying rounds here but lost to Tatjana Maria in three sets.
The 19-year-old American had a breakthrough year in 2017. She won her first WTA main draw match against a Top 50 opponent (Osaka) at Stanford and made her first tour-level quarterfinal at Quebec City, losing to the eventual winner, Van Uytvanck.
Last week at the Oracle Challenger, Dolehide secured a gutsy win against Su-Wei Hsieh (who defeated Muguruza and Radwanska earlier in the season) in a straight set match which had two tiebreakers (7-6 7-6).
