Champions League Sheriff Tiraspol vs Shkendija

Sheriff Tiraspol and Shkendija meet at 20:00 on Tuesday in the second leg of the Preliminary Round 2 of the Champions League.

In the tour, the Macedonian formation imposed 1-0, Shkendija had other big opportunities (including a bar), but Moldovans play better on their own ground and are able to smoothly return the outcome of the tour.

In fact, in the first preliminary round of the UCL, Sheriff lost 1-2 in Georgia in front of Torpedo Kutaisi, but then scored clearly in the field, score 3-0, qualifying further, with two goals scored in the first 45 minutes.

Unlike Shkendija, the Moldavian champion has a much bigger experience in European Cups. Last year, Sheriff played in the Europa League and was one step in the European Spring. Moldovans finished third (9 points) in a group with Lokomotiv Moscow, Copenhagen and Zlin.

The base man at Sheriff is Antun Palic, former Dinamo midfielder. The Croat arrived this summer in the Republic of Moldova and was integrist in all three Champions League matches. Sheriff is based on a lot of foreign players, and in the tournament with Shkendija had a single Moldovan player (Posmac defender) in the starting formula.

Shkendija went into the previous tour of the The New Saints Welsh Champions League. After 5-0 on home ground, Shkendija was close to a disaster in return after losing 0-4 in away.

Sheriff is a much better team (even if she played under expectations in the tour) and I think Moldovans will control the game on their own. It is hard to believe that Shkendija can withstand, and the fragile advantage of the tour will not help much champion of Macedonia. In order not to have big emotions, Sheriff should score in the first half, so to take the risk of being caught on the counter, so it is very possible to have an open match with at least one goal to break.

Bet Tip: scores in the first half
Odds: 1.47
