Stefanos Tsitsipas vs Del Potro Tennis Prediction

Unlike in Madrid, Del Potro is defending his quarterfinal points in Rome which will serve as an additional motivation for him in this first-ever meeting with Stefanos Tsitsipas. Del Potro has tons of experience at this level and will start as the favorite but the Greek has got the form and momentum on his side to make it a close contest.

Stefanos Tsitsipas News

Stefanos Tsitsipas had to spend just 23 minutes on the court during his first round match on Tuesday as his opponent Borna Coric was forced to retire after going down 1-4 very early in the first set.
The short time spent on the court would help the Greek teenager massively as he had played over ten tough and grueling matches on clay in the last three weeks, including two long matches in the qualifying stages of Rome Masters.
The 19-year-old Tsitsipas, who has won three ITF titles and one Challenger title on clay so far in his career, posted his career-best result in a tour-level clay tournament (on all surfaces as well) by finishing as the runner-up at ATP Barcelona a few weeks back.
Since the start of European clay swing, the Next Gen Star has won an impressive 14 matches from the possible 18. This took his season tally to 25 wins and 15 losses.

Del Potro News

Juan Martin Del Potro suffered a disappointing defeat in the R16 of Madrid Masters against Dusan Lajovic as he won the first set and led *4-0 in the deciding set tiebreaker, 6-3 4-6 6-7.
Del Potro’s shaky performances in Madrid was understandable as Madrid Masters was only his first tournament since reaching the semifinal of Miami Open in March 2018. Having nearly four hours of match time under his belt now, the Argentinian will be hoping to have a good run in Rome this week.
Earlier this season, Juan Martin Del Potro won his maiden Masters 1000 title by handing Roger Federer his first defeat of the season. It was his second title of the season (Acapulco) and the third finals appearance in 2018 (Auckland and Acapulco).

Tennis Prediction: Del Potro
Odds: 1.55
