Jan Lennard Struff vs Marco Cecchinato Tennis Prediction

These two players have met thrice on the clay courts (including Bundesliga exhibition) with Marco Cecchinato winning the recent two (leads H2H 2-1). Notably, all these three matches have finished in straight sets. While Struff has played five semifinals at this level, here’s Cecchinato’s opportunity to make his maiden semifinal appearance. Expect this to be an evenly matched contest as both the players are capable of winning this.

Jan Lennard Struff News

Jan Lennard Struff registered straight set win over a tricky opponent, Alexander Bublik, to progress into the quarterfinal of ATP Budapest on his debut appearance, 6-1 6-4. Earlier this week, he fought back from a set down against Jurgen Zopp in the opening match, 2-6 6-4 7-5.
After failing to win back-to-back matches in his opening eight tournaments of the season, Struff has now recorded at least two wins in the recent two events that he entered. Last week at Monte Carlo, he scored straight-sets wins over Yuichi Sugita and Fabio Fognini before losing to Alexander Zverev in the round of 16.
This will be the German’s first quarterfinal appearance since losing to Kyle Edmund in ATP Vienna (indoor hard) at the tail end of 2017. Overall, he played five quarterfinal matches on tour in 2017 and lost three of them (0/2 on clay).

Marco Cecchinato News

Marco Cecchinato made the best use of the lucky loser spot by progressing to the tour-level quarterfinal for the first time in nearly two years. After losing the final qualifying match to Jurgen Zopp, he has defeated Mirza Basic (R1) and Damir Dzumhur (R2) in straight sets.
The last time he made a quarterfinal appearance on the tour was at ATP Bucharest in 2016, where he defeated the same opponent (as this week), Damir Dzumhur, in the second round before losing to Federico Delbonis in the quarterfinal.
Last month, Marco Cecchinato made three consecutive quarterfinals in clay Challenger events and managed to win them all, against Guido Andreozzi at Santiago, Ramkumar Ramanathan at Alicante and Gian Marco Moroni at Marbella.
The Italian’s last nine matches have all finished in straight sets with him winning six of them (6/3). For today we have a intersting match for online betting: Struff vs Cecchinato
