Tennis Predictions – Tennis Picks

These two players have met thrice in the past, Berdych won their first two meetings (both on hard courts) while Dzumhur won their recent meeting on the clay courts of Monte Carle (2016). The Bosnian can put in a warrior like performance which would make things difficult for someone like Tomas Berdych, but the Czech has too much quality for Dzumhur, and he should be able to secure the progress.

Tomas Berdych Tennis Pick

Tomas Berdych, who pulled out of his quarterfinal match at ATP Rotterdam last week, survived an early scare and battled hard to scrape through his second round encounter (first round bye) this week on Thursday (def. Travaglia 5-7 7-6 6-3).
Tomas Berdych has appeared here seven times in the past but couldn’t get beyond the second round in his first four appearances (2004, 2005, 2006 & 2009). But the World #17 has done exceptionally well in the recent three visits by progressing to the quarterfinal in 2011, final in 2013 and semifinal in 2016.
Stefano Travaglia will be his first Italian opponent in this event.
This will be the Czech #1’s third consecutive quarterfinals of the season, having made the quarterfinal at Rotterdam (pulled out) and Australian Open (lost to Roger Federer) earlier in the season. The last time Tomas Berdych won a quarterfinal match on tour was at ATP Los Cabos in 2017 when he defeated Adrian Mannarino in three sets.

Damir Dzumhur Tennis Pick

For the second time this week, Damir Dzumhur lost the first set tiebreaker, won the second set tiebreaker and went on to win the match. The Bosnian was down a set and break at one stage and was trailing 0-5 in the deciding set tiebreaker during his second round match against Thomas Fabbiano before launching a comeback.
Damir Dzumhur has produced some exceptional results on indoor hard-courts in 2017. The Bosnian played 16 matches in these conditions winning 13 of them, including two consecutive title wins at ATP Moscow and ATP St.Petersburg. He eventually ran out of gas and ended his run of 11 straight wins (IH) against Tsonga at ATP Vienna (7-6 6-7 1-6), which also happened to be his final match of 2017.
