Thomas Tuchel has been in office at Chelsea Football Club for over a week. From the first two games, the ex-Dortmund was able to score four points and at the same time write history. In fact, the Swabian-born became the first blues coach since Rafa Benitez in 2012, without conceding a goal in the first two matches. If the third clean sheet in a row follows on Thursday evening, Tuchel would even catch up with Jose Mourinho (2004).
The endeavour is by no means easy, especially since the German coach is facing his first London derby. Before the start of the match between Tottenham and Chelsea, the odds still suggest that the advantages lie with the guests from Stamford Bridge.
This assessment is primarily due to the impressions of the past two matchdays. While the Blues, as mentioned, scored a win and a draw, the Spurs suffered two bitter defeats at home against Liverpool and in Brighton. Especially the offensive, which currently has to do without top striker Harry Kane, crystallized as a “mild breeze”.
Because the hosts are still ahead of their upcoming opponents in the Premier League table and, of course, almost everything is open in a real capital city derby, we do not predict the outcome of the game between Tottenham and Chelsea. Tottenham haven’t lost a derby this season
The Spurs are the only London first division team to be without a derby defeat against the capital city competition in 2020/21. However, only one of the five duels was won (four draws). A bet on under-goals paid off four times. Chelsea – Stats & current form
Although Thomas Tuchel has only just swung the sceptre at Stamford Bridge for a week, the German coach seems to have already achieved a lot. In particular, Mauricio Pochettino’s predecessor at Paris St. Germain noticeably stabilized the previously often fragile-looking defence. In both games under his direction, keeper Mendy remained clean.
If it was only 0-0 against Wolverhampton, the strong Clarets from Burnley were put in their place with 2-0. In the last four Premier League games of the Blues alone, a maximum of two goals was scored, so that on Thursday between Tottenham and Chelsea our prediction is based on the Under 2.5.
Chelsea have lost four of their last five Premier League away games
In his first London derby, it will now be interesting to see whether Tuchel also manages to get them away weakness under control. Four of the last five guest appearances in what is probably the strongest football league in the world have been lost. In the away table, the Blues are currently only in tenth place. The former Champions League winner has only managed one goal on average per game while away from home.

In terms of personnel, the German coach of the Londoners is spoiled for choice. Since Hakim Ziyech and N’Golo Kante are back in the squad after injury, almost all top performers are available without restriction. This in turn means that the record new entry Kai Havertz should again only sit on the bench. In return, the native Swabian continued to trust Timo Werner from the start, even though the international striker has not met in twelve Premier League games (!).
