These two players met once in the second round of Cincinnati Masters in 2015 when the Serbian prevailed in straight sets. Considering the way Novak Djokovic is playing at the moment, Paire does have a fair chance of delivering an upset if he plays to the best of his ability.

Novak Djokovic News

Playing his first match since losing the Australian Open fourth round match to Hyeon Chung, Novak Djokovic suffered yet another disappointing loss in the second round of the Indian Wells (first round bye) earlier this month.
This particular defeat against Taro Daniel must be more worrying for the Serbian considering Daniel had just one main draw win under his belt at the time he faced Djokovic. Moreover, the former World #1 led the first set by 5-2 and even wasted a set point before losing the first set.
Novak Djokovic has got an impressive record at the Miami Open having won the title six times in his previous 11 appearances. He also lifted the trophy here in his recent three visits, in 2014, 2015 and 2016.
Twice he had faced a second-round exit from the Miami Open in the past when he lost to Olivier Rochus in 2010 and Kevin Anderson in 2008.
“The last few days have been the first day in long, long time that I could actually focus on the game.” – words from Djokovic suggests he isn’t feeling much of the pain in recent days.

Benoit Paire News

After facing early exits from the Indian Wells (R1) and Dubai (R2), Benoit Paire fought back from a set down to defeat Mischa Zverev to progress into the second round of the Miami Open, 1-6 6-1 6-2.
It was the third time in his previous six matches Paire has lost the first set 1-6. Additionally, nine of his 14 matches (best-of-three sets) in 2018 have gone to the distance.
Benoit Paire has never lost a second-round match here at Miami, defeated Mikhail Youzhny in 2016 and Pablo Cuevas in 2017.

Tennis Prediction: Novak Djokovic Corect Score 2-0 SET
Odds: 1.77
