This will be the first meeting between these two players. Though Zverev is currently ranked 14 places above Carreno Busta and has already won two Masters title, both of these players have got the weapons to hurt each other and expect this to be an evenly matched contest.

Pablo Carreno Busta News

Pablo Carreno Busta registered his first win over Kevin Anderson (1-5) to move into the semifinal of Miami Open for the first time in his career. He lost to Kevin Anderson in the third set tiebreaker at Indian Wells earlier this month but returned the favor by winning the third set tiebreaker in the same score (8-6) in Miami this week.
“It was an amazing match, no? I lost to him, 7-6 in the third set [at Indian Wells]. And today, well, at the beginning of the match I started playing really good, returning good, serving good, being very aggressive.” – Pablo Carreno Busta after securing his semi-final berth.
This will be the Spaniard’s second Masters 1000 semifinal appearance. He lost his previous semifinal to Stan Wawrinka in Indian Wells last year.
Pablo Carreno Busta started the 2018 season at #10 but poor performances on tour and failure to defend his semifinal points at the Indian Wells seen him drop to #19. However, he will now move to #12 (next Monday), and even has the chance to break back into the top 10, provided he makes the final and John Isner does not.
The win against Kevin Anderson was only his second win over a top 10 player (2-21). He must beat another top 10 player, Alexander Zverev (#5), if he has to reach his maiden final at this level.

Alexander Zverev News

Alexander Zverev avoided a third consecutive defeat against Borna Coric (was 0-2 before the match) to avoid a second consecutive quarterfinal exit from the Miami Open, 6-4 6-4. He lost his quarterfinal match to Nick Kyrgios here in 2017.
The German has already made two semifinals at this level, and he went onto win the title on both occasions, at Montreal 2017 and Rome 2017. His semifinal opponents were Denis Shapovalov and John Isner.
Alexander Zverev’s recent two matches have finished in the same scoreline, 6-4 6-4, against Nick Kyrgios and Borna Coric. In fact, the first set in six of his last 11 matches was settled at 6-4.

Tennis Prediction: Alexander Zverev to win the match
Odds: 1.45
