That was a clear story of what happened in Game 1 in Houston on Sunday. With 32 points difference, the Rockets dominated the jazz and that, although many experts had predicted problems for Houston. However, they wanted to prove from the outset that this year they are ready to go one step further and to play the title. They even needed only 29 points from “The Beard” James Harden, which are a rather meager yield for him. But the rest of the team is so convincing that Houston did not even need an inhumane Harden gala. All seven players scored two digits and after this game it is hard to imagine that the Jazz have even a hint of a chance in this series. Not much worked together on the other side of Utah, so after two quarters they were already almost hopeless.

But not only the starting five could convince, but also the bankers. Darnell House Jr. and Kenneth Faried each scored eleven bench points and overall they won the duel of the bankers with 35-18, which had a decisive influence on the high victory.
However, we assume that Utah will not allow another 122 points and so the Rockets have to adjust to a tougher defense in Game 2. The Trail Blazers have impressively demonstrated how to effectively defend against excellent single players like George or Westbrook. So it could be in game 2 but then again to a Harden show, when this is required to create litters from nothing. Therefore, we expect more than 30 Harden points, but overall with fewer Rockets counters. It should be enough for a win, but not with 32 points ahead, but with a maximum of ten. That’s why we’re not too sure about the handicap for the Rockets, so we’re careful about betting on them. Tips for little overall points are worth a little more.

Utah Jazz – Statistics & Current Form
The jazz were not the jazz in Game 1. Virtually nothing that made them towards the end of the regular season, could be implemented in this game. They won eight of their last ten games of the season and went as one of the hottest teams in the post season. There, however, they were quickly brought back to reality and it turned out that between these two teams there is more to it than just a single place in the Western Conference. If jazz does not focus on its defensive capabilities, then it could be a very one-sided series. But we do not want to write off the jazz too early, because they have often got a real swatter, even in the regular season. So they lost the last game against the Rockets in February with 27 points difference, only to then win in the next two games against the Suns and the Spurs with 28 and 20 points ahead. While we do not believe they can repeat this feat, there certainly should not be a second blowout defeat in a row.
Nevertheless, Utah’s Rockets are not that good either in style. The Rockets took 41 three-way attempts again on Sunday and already in the normal season, there was no team that threw more often from outside than Houston. It’s just hard to defend, and it does not help that the Jazz closes the zone with Rudy Gobert. Their guards around Mitchell and Rubio are not the best defenders against the three-point throw. This combination is of course poison and if they even lose the rebound duel with 41:42, they have no chance. Just under the basket, the jazz should exploit their strengths. If jazz does not clearly decide the rebound duel in Game 2, it will be incredibly difficult to win the game. For us it is after the game on Tuesday 2: 0 for the Rockets, even though the defense of jazz in this game will act better. At Rockets vs Jazz, a under-bet tip is therefore at least as effective as Houston’s.
