Milos Raonic holds a perfect 6-0 record over Jeremy Chardy. They recently met once in the third round of Miami Open in 2015, when the Canadian prevailed in a tight three-setter. However, this could be Raonic toughest match against Chardy as all their six previous meetings came during the time when Raonic was consistently performing at a high level.

Jeremy Chardy News

Jeremy Chardy registered his biggest win of the season by knocking out the World #4 Grigor Dimitrov in straight sets, who is still recovering from his recent fitness issues. It was the Frenchman’s third straight-sets win in Miami this fortnight, having previously beaten Rogerio Dutra Silva and Richard Gasquet in the similar fashion.
Chardy has appeared here nine times in the past but has never managed to progress beyond the third round, making this his best result in the Miami Open.
The 31-year-old Chardy could not win back to back matches in his opening five tournaments of the season but has done really well in the two Masters events by reaching at least the round of 16, at the Indian Wells and Miami Open (still active).
The last time Jeremy Chardy made a quarterfinal appearance at Masters 1000 was in 2015, when he faced (like in Miami 2018) a South American (Leonardo Mayer, R32), Frenchman (Nicolas Mahut, R64) and a big-server (Ivo Karlovic, R16) before losing his quarterfinal match to John Isner in the quarterfinal of Montreal Masters.

Milos Raonic News

Like Chardy, Milos Raonic could win only one match (vs. Taro Daniel in Delray Beach) before entering the Indian Wells, but he was able to up his game in the big tournaments by reaching the semifinal at the Indian Wells earlier this month and the round of 16 at the Miami Open this fortnight.
A win against Jeremy Chardy will give Milos Raonic his third quarterfinal in this tournament. He previously made the quarterfinal in 2016 and 2014, after defeating Damir Dzumhur and Benjamin Becker in the round of 16, respectively.
The Canadian has served 26 aces, won nearly 80% of his first serve points and yet to drop his serve even once from his two matches at the Miami Open (vs. Mikael Ymer and Diego Schwartzman). That’s the kind of stats that made him the World #3 in 2017 and its vital for him to keep serving at a high level consistently, something that he wasn’t able to do since returning from the injury.

Tennis Prediction: Milos Raonic to win the match
Odds: 1.50
