Denis Shapovalov vs Gilles Muller Tennis Prediction

Denis Shapovalov will be hoping to have a good week at ATP London this week having suffered a disappointing defeat at the hands of Prajnesh Gunneswaran in the first round of ATP Stuttgart a few days back, 6-7 6-2 3-6.
The Canadian teenager made his debut here in 2017, and as a qualifier, he won four matches before losing to Tomas Berdych in the round of 16. It was also his career-best result in a grass tour-level event.
The 19-year-old Denis Shapovalov’s best moment of his career came on grass as he won the Junior Wimbledon singles title in 2016. He then showcased his ability on this surface by winning seven matches in 2017 (7/4).
Shapovalov enjoyed a successful clay season over the last two months by winning seven matches from the possible 12. He also posted his career-best result on clay when he made the semifinal at the Madrid Masters, where he defeated Kyle Edmund and Milos Raonic before losing to the eventual champion Alexander Zverev.
Gilles Muller continues to struggle on tour as he failed in the first round of his title-defense campaign at Hertogenbosch last week, losing out in straight sets against Matthew Ebden.
The 2017 Wimbledon quarterfinalist is currently on a five-match losing run and has gone 7/13 so far in 2018. The last time he finished a season with minus w/l ratio was back in 2013 when he played only 22 matches (7/15).
The big-serving Luxembourger has entered this tournament 12 times in the past and has done exceptionally well in the recent years by reaching the quarterfinals twice in 2015 and 2016, and semifinal once in 2017.
Though Gilles Muller has done well on grass throughout his career (71/48), current form makes Denis Shapovalov the slight favorite in the pair’s first ever meeting.

Tennis Prediction: Denis Shapovalov
Odds: 1.83
