Zarina Diyas News

Zarina Diyas posted her best Premier Mandatory result (round of 16) at the Miami Open last week. She defeated Brady, Kuznetsova, and Witthoeft to set up a clash with Pliskova, but had to retire in the second set due to the abdominal injury.
Diyas, making her third main draw appearance at Charleston, has never won a match in her previous two visits. In 2015, she lost to the Czech Lucie Hradecka, and in 2016, she lost to Gavrilova (both being three-set defeats).
Diyas won her first WTA title in September last year. Entering as a qualifier, the Kazakh won eight matches in a row to emerge victorious in Tokyo.

Christina McHale News

Christina McHale got her first main draw win since October 2017 by being the beneficiary of Kaia Kanepi’s retirement in the first round of Miami Open. After upsetting #24 Strycova in the second round, she disintegrated in front of Muguruza in 70 minutes (0 winners).
McHale posted good results in her first two appearances at Charleston. She reached the round of 16 on her debut in 2010 (as a qualifier) by defeating Azarenka, and in 2011, she reached the quarterfinal by knocking out Hantuchova and Watson.
However, since 2011, she has made five more main draw appearances in Charleston, but could not win a match in any of them.

Tennis Prediction: Zarina Diyas to win the match
Odds: 1.97
